What is it?

McC Organic's Té Especial, anti~cystitis healing tea 40 gm

What's it good for?

Cystitis means inflammation (itis) of the bladder (cyst) and so it's no wonder it feels like your urethra is on fire!

Cystitis affects at least half of all women at some time in their life.

However, it only affects 1 in every 2,000 men each year.

This dramatic difference is primarily due to the anatomical difference between men and women.

Women have a much shorter urethra allowing the infection to effect before it would a man.

The infection usually lasts a few days.

Cystitis is experienced as pain on urinating, an urgent need to pee, peeing more frequently than usual, pain/stinging sensation in the lower stomach.

If it is a severe infection, one may see blood or puss in the urine.

This tea contains:

Antibacterials

  • Buchu (Barosma betulina)
  • Echinacea (Echinacea angustifolia or purpurea)
  • Marigold (Calendulaoff.)
  • Thyme (Thymus off.)
  • Uva-ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi)

These antibacterial herbs will help to combat any bacteria which may have caused the infection.

Demulcents (soothing):

  • Couch Grass (Agropyron repens)
  • Echinacea (Echinacea anguvstifolia or purpurea)
  • Marigold (Calendula off.)
  • Marshmallow root (Althea off. rad.)

These soothing herbs will calm the painful sensations associated with cystitis.

Diuretics (increases urine):

  • Cornsilk (Zea mays)
  • Dandelion leaf (Taraxacum off.)
  • Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)
  • Marshmallow leaf (Althea off. fol.)
  • Nettle leaf (Urtica dioica)

Theses diuretics will help you pee more.

This is helpful because it enables you to flush through the bacteria as quickly as possible.

Diuretics are often anti-inflammatory too and will soothe the passage of urine.

DOSAGE

It’s common for a stinging sensation to continue for a day or two after infection has subsided, which can make one feel nervous the infection is still there or returning.

Be sure to continue with your herbal tea for a day or two after symptoms subside to be absolutely certain it does not continue.

Use 1 teaspoon full for every cup of boiled water.

Infuse for 5 to 10mins while covered with a saucer. Covering your cup will ensure the beneficial terpenes and volatile organic compounds are retained.

Drink at least 5 times a day, continuing for a day or two after symptoms disappear.
