Lovingly handpicked Psilocybe semilanceata gathered from a pristine magical hill near the Scottish Borders.

These mushroom fruit are 100% natural, organic, cruelty and chemical free.

These Liberty Caps are grown wild, outside with nothing added except for what Mother Nature provides.

Available dried, in weights of 7g, 14g and 28g.

What is it?

Psilocybe semilanceata, are also known as Liberty caps, Blue Legs, Pixie Caps and Witches Hats.

It is an unassuming and innocent looking mushroom, often found growing next to many similar species, including Panaeolus spp. and Protostropharia semiglobata.

As with Psilocybe cubensis, Liberty Caps grow in fields and pastures yet prefer the coldness of more temperate climates. Scotland is ideal.

Found growing in Autumn and Spring, these delicate thin stemmed, slender mushrooms are among the most potent of the Psilocybe species.

What's in a name?

The name Liberty Cap is said to have developed from the Phrygian cap, which in appearance is very similar to the mushroom's cap.

The Liberty cap is a soft conical hat with the apex bent over, associated in antiquity with several peoples in Eastern Europe and Anatolia, including the Balkans, Dacia, Thrace and Phrygia.

Although Phrygian caps did not originally function as liberty caps, they came to signify freedom and the pursuit of liberty first in the American Revolution and then in the French Revolution.

The original cap of liberty was the Roman pileus, the felt cap of emancipated (freed) slaves of ancient Rome, which was an attribute of Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty.

Another potential reason for this name is that the insights and understanding gained from these mushrooms inspires liberty and freedom in the partaker.

What's it good for?

As with all mushrooms, Psilocybe semilanceata is high in vitamin D, being one of a select few natural sources other than direct sunlight.

Vitamin D supports the immune system, contributes to the health of our bones and helps protect against cancerous growths.

This mushroom also contains beta-glucan compounds.

Beta-glucan compounds support neuroplasticity by optimising Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), a neurotrophic factor and neuropeptide primarily involved in the regulation of growth, maintenance, proliferation, and survival of certain target neurons or nerve cells.

In practice, this active ingredient enables the rewiring of the brain's nerve cells, to unblock blockages, relieving depression and its associated ailments.

Recent research has identified significant neurological based health improvements for stroke patients, from microdosing.

Its proven mental health benefits include the release from addictions and depression.

Under guidance, PTSD and its associated ailments, have been show to be resolved and healed.

Dosage & Protocols

The key is to start low and go slow, whether microdosing or macrodosing.

Microdosing

Though the protocols are many and varied, we recommend you do your own research and analytically appraise which amounts and how often works best for you.

The body builds a tolerance to the active ingredients quickly but also drops it quickly: the active ingredients exit our bodies usually within 24 hours.

Hence the two day breaks in many microdosing protocols.

Best taken in the morning with a light breakfast or snack.

Two popular microdosing protocols include:

  • 1 day on / 2 days off, reference Dr James Fadiman
  • 5 days on (Mon~Fri) / 2 days off (Sat~Sun), Mister Paul Stamet

Macrodosing

Best eaten on an empty stomach.

Consensus would suggest a macro dose is from 1gm upward.

Having an intent, a question to which you're looking for the answer to, will help focus your journey.

Ensure you are in comfortable surroundings, preferably in a Natural setting.

If this is your first experience, we recommend having a trip buddy at hand, someone who is not partaking but will remain with you during your journey.
